Lifecycle Products

Turn an obsolete assembly into a repeatable solution.

Reconstruct the function, address known weaknesses and create the information needed to make the replacement again. Lifecycle Products connects today’s retrofit need with planned support for the existing machine.

System approach

Keep the machine. Improve the replacement.

A replacement should fit more than the available space. Its function, loads, connections and future supply route all need to be understood.

01

Capture the original function

Measure the assembly and document its mounting, movement, loads and interfaces. Existing drawings and operating information help establish the baseline.

02

Improve the design

Re-engineer worn or inadequate parts, integrate current components and build prototypes against the agreed functional requirements.

03

Document repeat supply

Create production drawings, inspection information and a controlled component definition to support repeat manufacturing and planned spare-parts procurement.

Define the application

What does your system need to do?

Share what you know about the application. We can help identify the information still needed to establish a sound engineering scope.

Discuss the requirements
  • Machine and assembly identification
  • Existing drawings, photographs and available samples
  • Description of the fault, wear or obsolescence problem
  • Loads, operating conditions and installation constraints
  • Required quantities and the intended future supply approach

Development & lifecycle

A replacement with a documented basis.

Depending on the project scope, deliverables can include reconstructed CAD, calculations, drawings, prototypes and inspection information. Repeat manufacturing and spare-parts arrangements are agreed as part of the lifecycle plan.

Replacement products and retrofit kits are developed for the customer application. Compatibility, responsibilities and validation must be agreed for the actual machine; there is no unverified catalogue of stocked replacement parts.
